Who We Are
Solar Sounds is an org committed to celebrating the kaleidoscope of sounds from both local gems to global artists. It's meant to be more than just a platform - it's a community for expression & connection through a series of genre-fluid events. From intimate settings in neighborhood venues to the grandeur of festival productions, Solar Sounds strives to uplift artists who embody the true spirit of their diverse community.
Our Story
We came together because we found ourselves enjoying the sounds in dark techno warehouses, house-forward dance floors, bass-heavy venues, light-hearted house parties, and experimental spaces alike. We have all felt on the fringes of different communities, but we wanted to make room with Solar Sounds. Room to enjoy music, exploration, inclusion, and connection.
Our curations are genre-fluid and open by design! Selectors are at different stages of their journeys and their sounds may be house, club, disco, techno, etc. We choose venues likes clubs, studios, warehouses, boats, festivals, etc to enjoy these events in different ways. We document/share what we create on social channels because one day these posts will be memories for someone.
There's something special about watching this project grow in real time. None of this is possible without collaboration. We're thankful for our friends, venue staff, artists, supporting orgs, lighting designers, sound engineers, security teams, new friends on the dancefloor, and everyone in between.
